Breath Yoga:
This is a breath-based asana practice with 13 to 18 postures that are followed by Pranayama (breathing practices). The movements are gentle and coordinated with the breath. This practice will energize the body and calm the mind. Students will also work towards strength, flexibility, structural alignment, proper functioning of the body systems and mental wellness. It is a wonderful practice to reduce chronic stress. In this class we work with the movement of spine in all directions. The Breath Yoga Class is good for beginners and for advance practitioners. All Levels
Yin Yoga:
A soft practice in which you hold a series of poses for 5 minutes. Focus of the class is to work the connective tissue in a safe and healthy manner. Allow your body to sink into the postures while stretching the appropriate ligaments and tendons. Quiet your mind and open your body! All Levels
Slow Flow:
This is a Vinyasa Flow class, slowed down a bit focusing on proper alignment and positioning, with deeper attention being paid to the foundation of your yoga practice.: This class is also appropriate for an advanced practitioner looking to get back to basics and utilize a slower-paced class to focus on the fundamentals of his yoga practice. All Levels Vinyasa
Mind Body Flow:
Based on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, Vipassana, and Zen meditation, this class is designed to increase physical and mental flexibility. The physical focus is on developing stabilizing muscles, strength, flexibility, and a greater range of motion through slow controlled movement, holding and breathing. The mental work is done through meditation, observing formations of mind and repetitive thought patterns. Learning to see the mind objectively helps to inject space between stimuli and reactivity, so that you can choose your thoughts and become responsive.
Yoga Unity:
An all-levels Hatha-based asana class focusing on the mind-body-spirit connection. The spirit part of life is sometimes forgotten, and this class will help you reconnect with your soul and your spirituality. The poses are uncomplicated, yet challenging at your own level. Each class is unique, focusing on a different element of Self. Beginning-level chanting and meditation as well as pranayama are taught and practiced.
Forrest Yoga:
Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit. Forrest Yoga focuses on healing and growth of the physical and emotional bodies and is based on the teachings of Ana Forrest. Deep breathing, vigorous pose sequencing and longer posture holds increases strength, flexibility and builds strong abdominals. Forrest Yoga only requires that you bring a willingness to learn how to feel authentically and respond honestly. Deepen your practice, feel better and find your truth. Inspired - take these gifts beyond the mat and into the rest of your life. All ability levels welcome.
FUNdamentals:
This class is appropriate for all levels of students looking to slow down and work on the foundation of postures. We cover balance, standing and seated postures in a way in which the postures are accessible to all. If you are looking to try yoga for the first time, start here.
Yoga with Alignment:
Based around the 5 Universal Principles of Alignment used in Anusara. This class focuses on building onto poses throughout the class in order to reach the final apex pose nearing the class end. It is a challenging class that focuses on breath work and cues to allow the body to align in the most optimal and sustainable way in order to gain full expression in each pose. In this class you will clear your mind as you work the body allowing yourself to open to grace on and off the mat.
Alignment for Vinyasa:
The class begins with gentle flow to warm the body and focus the mind, then moves into more detailed alignment instruction. It is a class that pauses the natural flow of the Vinyasa or Slow Flow classes and delves more deeply into the alignment details of specific asanas. It is a wonderful exploration which helps cultivate healthy patterns for the moving meditation. It is also a great venue to work with individual adaptations.
